Distribution Line Installation & Conversion

Maple Leaf Power constructed 2.2 kilometers of single phase to three phase conversion and built a new feeder for a diesel power plant located outside the small Indigenous community of Lutsel K’e (72 distribution pole installations & additional distribution services) for Northwest Territories Power Corporation. Maple Leaf Power also provided all Civil Services for this project.

This Distribution Line Installation & Conversion project presented unique challenges as Lutsel K’e is an extremely remote, fly-in/fly-out community, and access to the site was limited to strict timelines and barge transportation. Effective coordination was necessary between Maple Leaf Power, the Northwest Territories Power Corporation, and the community to ensure equipment access, crew entry, and lodging. Despite the constraints, Maple Leaf Power successfully completed the project while prioritizing safety and efficiency.
