Description gInfrared Thermography (IRT) is the process of using a thermal imager to detect radiation from an object in the form of heat. The goal of IRT is to ensure electrical equipment is operating under normal heat patterns and identify existing inefficiencies and defects, allowing system maintenance managers to target assets that need maintenance and repair methodically.IRT inspections are performed by Maple Leaf Power level 1 thermography certified power line technician’s using a FLIR E5 thermal imaging camera [-20 – 250°C range, <0.10°C sensitivity]. IRT inspections can be conducted on both overhead and underground power systems. A list of all scannable electrical utilities can be provided upon further inquiry.System reports are generated using infrared software which integrates radiometric .jpg photos from the FLIR E5 and power line technician maintenance suggestions into one comprehensive document. A report is produced for each asset where maintenance is suggested by IRT.Following report generation Maple Leaf Power can assist with asset repair if requested by the client.
